Edith

Edith is one of the persons who developed the best during the seasons. After Thomas Barrow. She is one of the people I feel most sorry for. It's like she always has misfortunes(like Anna Bates). Warning! There are gonna be a few spoilers around!
Well, that's not true, what she says right there. She isn't a failure. She is nice, and friendly(not to everyone perhaps) and she is one of my favourite characters. She has known many sorrow. After the man who she loves, died when the Titanic sank, and then came back, but left again, she was sad. And Sir Anthony Strallan. They would marry, but he left her at the alter, because he thought he was too old for her, actually I am glad they didn't marry, but poor Edith...she thought they would marry and she loved him and he left her. She was so happy first.
And then she got dissapointed. Again, she meets a man, who she loves. Michael Gregson was his name. He had a wife, but tried to devorce with her. Edith and he had a child together, Marigold. Edith finds out Michael died, which is really tragical for her and her not yet born child. She has to give Marigold to a farmer an his family, otherwise she would be ruined for always. In the end, she gets her child back. I was so happy for her! Then she meets Bertie Pelham, who becomes her new love. Mary ruins all by revealing Marigold is Edith' child. Bertie is shocked, not because of her illegitimate child, but because of her dishonesty. Edith knew that Mary would say it once, like she said herself.
I really feel sorry for her, because she is so sad. Someone who can't feel sorry for her, must really have an other opinion of people than I do.
In the end, Bertie comes back to her and still wants to marry her, but he doesn't want his mother to know the secret Edith holds. She has a guilty feeling about it and wants to be honest to Bertie's mother, so she tells her about ''it''.
With that, she earns the respect of Bertie's mother. Bertie and she get married.
She really deserved it! More than anyone else! Finally, she was happy! Now, everything was allright. If Edith was married, all was allright. At least that is what I thought. And Anna and Bates had to be happy, and Rose had to come back again just once. But when Edith was happy, I was happy. Because if this serie had ended without Edith married, I would just have the feeling it was not ready yet and I think I would be a little bit(or a lot) angry, because had so much misfortunes already, that one couldn't happen too. I'm so glad she married!
