Poldark is a great serie! And as a bonus, it's a history movie. And based on a book. We just finished season 1 this weekend. It's really good! And it has great characters. Speaking about the characters... :)
Demelza Poldark.
She's just so kind and generous and forgiving. She is really good for Ross. But is always afraid that Elizabeth will ''take him away''. I hope she doesn't anymore now. It was so sad for Demelza (and Ross) when Julia died. :'( All by all, she's my favorite character for now.
Ross Poldark.
I don't know really what to say about him. Mostly he's kind, but sometimes he's unkind. And when he gambled all the time, I thought: ''What is he doing!?''. But it was all okay. It's just stupid that he loses a lot of things. Friends, family, the mine a bit. The Carnmore Copper Company. But I don't understand why he doesn't use the copper from Wheal Grace. But he's in jail now. So he can't.
Verity Poldark.
She's also so kind. She is a friend to Demelza and learns her to dance, and to play the piano and so much more. Her choice for Captain Blamey though, was not something I could understand.
Elizabeth Poldark.
I don't like Elizabeth. I don't really know why, but I don't like her. A couple of reasons, though. She still thinks she can win Ross back even when she's married to Francis. And what's with George Warleggan? She's finally okay with Francis, and then he shows up. I feel a bit sorry for her though. Sometimes...actually most of the time. But maybe I'll like her better later. In season 2.
Francis Poldark.
First I felt kinda sorry for him and he was okay. But then I didn't like him at all. Now he's okay again. Don't have much to say about him.
George Warleggan.
He's like an eel. So slippery you can't keep him. That's how he is. He does everything secretly and uses people who do a lot of things for money, so you cannot prove it was him. And he cares for nothing. Although he felt sorry and guilty when Julia died. I believe he was sincere when he said he was sorry to Ross. And he is in love with Elizabeth, so he really has feelings(every man has feelings, but you might not see it often, or notice anyhting at all). His father is even worse. So snake-ish.
Jud and Prudie Paynter.
They are both lazy and both love food. Jud loves the wine especially. Of course Ross' wine, not his own. There is one sentence he always says when he has to do something he doesn't want or when something happens he doesn't like: ''It ain't right, it ain't fair, it ain't fit, it ain't friendly.'' He always says that. The first time we saw him in the show, he immediately reminded us of someone we saw in a movie before, but we couldn't come on the name. I said he played in Nicholas Nickleby, someone else said another movie. In the end he played in Nicholas Nickleby and some other movie. Jud is not always that nice, Prudie neither, but more than Jud. They didn't like Demelza first, but I think they came to like her more as the show moved on.
Not many more main characters. It's really great and everyone of the family likes it(except for the three smallest)! Only the next season...we'll have to wait for that a pretty long time, unfortunately.
Well, if we have seen season 2, I'll review the characters again and some new characters. Maybe I'll look at them different then.
